Tech History: The History Of A.I.

The history of A.I. can be traced back to ancient Greece, where myths of mechanical robots were told. However, the modern concept of A.I. was first proposed in 1956 by a group of researchers at a conference at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. This conference is considered to be the birthplace of A.I. as a field of study, and the researchers at the conference proposed that machines could be made to think and learn like humans.

Over the next few decades, A.I. research focused mainly on rule-based systems, where computers were programmed to follow specific rules to solve problems.
